Associate DirectorofAthl etics Dan Yourg has been a member of the USD Ath letics Department since the fa ll of 1985.

Yourg oversees footba ll , baseba ll , men's basketball , go lf, men 's soccer, and men 's and women's tennis. Yourg serves as the NCAA compli ance coordinator for the entire USD athletic program. In add iti on, he is the department liaison to USD ' s Financial Aid Office. Yourg received hi s Bachelor's (Socio logy, 1980) and Master's (Social Work, 1986) degrees from the Univers ity ofWisconsin, where he was a nose guard on the Badgers ' footba ll team . Dan and hi s wife Virginia, a USD alumnus, are the parents of three sons, John , Tom and Mike.

Wendy Guthrie Assistant Director ofAthletics/ Senior Woman Administrator Wendy enters her fou rth year on the USD staff as the Assistant Director of Athl etics and third as Senior Woman Administrator.

Renee Wiebe is in her third year as Assis– tant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Promotions. She hand les Corporate Spon– sorsh ips; coordinates game-day promotions and special events; oversees commun ity out– reach programs like the Inter-City Games; and is involved with annua l fund raising

Guthrie is a 1991 graduate of Whittier College (B.A. in Business Adm ini stration) where she competed on the cross country team all four years. Besides being a two-time team captain, she was honored each season as team MVP and was a four-time AII-SCIAC selection. She earned her Master's in Physical Education with a concentra– tion in Athletic Administration at Springfield College in Massachu– setts. After Springfield, she held the position of Assistant Director of Athletics/SWA at St. Francis College in Pennsylvania for one year. Wendy gained experience working with the Colorado Sports Council and the US Ol ympi c Committee at the 1994 US Olympic Festival in St. Louis, Mi ssouri , and was the Director of Awards Ceremonies at the 1995 Olympic Festival in Denver. Ted and hi s wife Terri, a 1983 USD graduate, reside in Poway with their four daughters: Katie, Co lleen, Claire and Erin.
