Office Hours —We are open Monday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As always, if you need assistance at other times, please don’t hesitate to call (846- 3148) and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We will be closed Monday September 5 in observance of Labor Day. The Transfer Station will be open Monday September 5 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and Tuesday September 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fire Permits —are available at the Town Office when Gloria Brown is working. You may also get a fire permit online at www. maineburnpermit.com . Paving Project— The goal of the paving project is to chip seal almost five miles of road that has been cold-mix paved since 2012. This includes portions of North, South, John Small, Littlefield, and Roy Hill roads. We will also pave the entrance to the Transfer Station. We will mobilize chip seal equipment from Portland to the Chebeague Public Works Garage beginning September 5. Work is expected to be completed by September 9, weather permitting.

Paper Streets —The Board of Selectmen is holding a series of public hearings on Wednesday evenings in September for the various subdivisions containing paper streets (46). The property owners who abut the paper streets will be formally invited. The streets will be evaluated for potential benefits, feasibility, financial impact, and legal considerations before appropriate options are determined. The voters of Chebeague Island will have the final say in the disposition of each of the paper streets through Town Meeting. Please watch for future updates and notices of hearings scheduled.
