A Little Help from Your Friends

Everybody needs a little help on occasion. That’s the whole idea behind two services offered by the Island Commons—Chebeague Cares and Adult Day Care. Do you, a parent, or an island friend need services such as meal preparation, assistance with bathing, an escort to the mainland for medical appointments, or some errands completed? Would you, your parent, or a friend like to join us at the Island Commons for part of the day to share a meal, some activities, or simply companionship under the watchful eyes of our staff?

hour (minimum, two hours). Adult day care is available for a few hours up to a full day at $20 an hour. Thanks to generous support from the Island Council, financial aid for these services is available to any Chebeague resident who qualifies. The services are provided by the Commons’ skilled and caring staff, all of whom are licensed, insured, and trained in eldercare. At the Commons we recognize that not everyone is ready to leave home to move in with us. That’s why we offer these services because, everybody needs a little help once in a while. We’re happy to provide it.
