The Logic of Logos and Catchphrases By Pam Teel Companies spend millions of dollars coming up with unique and compelling logos that define their brands and make them stand out from their competitors. One can make good money in the advertising business thinking up clever logos if they have a good imagination. We see hundreds of logos everyday, but do we really get what the hidden meanings are behind the logos? Here are four logos that have hidden meanings that you might not have ever known or seen if it wasn’t pointed out to you. Baskin Robbins is an ice cream chain that has 31 different flavors of ice cream. The number 31 has been incorporated into the logo within the B and R initials. Look closely and you will see the number 31. Ever wonder what they would do if they added more flavors?

Pittsburgh Zoo has a few cleverly hidden aspects in their logo. Not only does it display a gorilla and a lion staring at each other, one can also see fish jumping around at the bottom of the logo. To see the gorilla and the lion, stare into the white space on both sides of Tostitos - The two T’s represent two people and a pot of salsa has replaced the dot over the I. The logo is representative of people coming together to share Tortilla chips. Toblerone- The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, includes a silhouette of a bear in its logo, on account of the fact that Bern is sometimes called a city of bears.

the tree trunk. The gorilla is on the left and the lion is on the right.
