PEOPLE At Half Term we said goodbye and good luck to Jacqui Motion who moved on from her role as Matron in Mac’s to become a Teaching Assistant at a local primary school; we are pleased to welcome Helen Barstow in her place. In internal changes, Margaret Lloyd becomes Deputy Head International; Paula Diaz Rogado, Assistant IB Coordinator (see page 16); Alex Waring, IB CAS Coordinator; and Ali Marjot, Head of Environmental Systems and Societies. Elsewhere, we welcome Nick Massey to the Modern Foreign Languages Department to cover Katherine Cole’s maternity leave. In personal news, congratulations to Head of Politics Jonathan Thomson, who married Tanya at Half Term (pictured right); and to Accounts Assistant Erika Sziva and Catering Services Manager Gabor Nagy who also married at Half Term in Hungary in the presence of many colleagues (see below). Strivers have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity by taking on the extraordinary physical feat of travelling 2,000 km across Western Europe by human power alone – cycling, hiking, trekking and kayaking – to finally reach the summit of Mont Blanc in September. Sam said, ‘Obviously, the summit is the pinnacle point to the end of the journey but I think, for us, Strive is more about the experience of taking on a huge challenge alongside amazing people working towards a common goal.
