OTHER MEDIA Polymer Clay with Valerie Jewell Location: Cape Coral Art Center Learn basic jewelry design and small-scale sculpture in polymer clay. Create small pendants and then use them as elements in more complex necklaces and bracelets. Students are also welcome to bring their own project ideas for help with design. Topics include skinner blends, simple to complex caning, extruding, and spinning lentil beads. While firing, a small percentage of shrinkage will occur, and the remaining product is pure silver! Stones can be fired in place, or placed using a bezel after firing. PMC can serve as a base for enameling, brought to a high polish, antiqued, or used as a surface for Kumbu. With a few simple tools, your imagination is the limit to what you can create!
