Junior in 2001-02: Enjoyed a stellar junior season .. Named First Team AII-PCSC for the third straight season ... Named the Torero swim program's Athlete of the Year... Swam two NCAA Provisional Qualifying Times... Led the Torero's 400 Freestyle Relay team to a new PCSC and San Diego school record (3:29.18) ... Individually, Gorrick's 200 Fly time of 2:02.45 was a new school mark... Took home first place in three events at the 2002 PCSC Championships ... Against rivals Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount (l-12- 02) , claimed all three events she entered, leading the Toreros to a double-dual meet sweep.. Won the 200 Individual Medley (2:09.56), 200 Butterfly (2:06.57) and the 200 Free (l :55. l l) against UC San Diego (1-18-02) ... Won the 200 Fly (2:03.23) and the 200 Free ( l :54.33) against Fresno State (l-10-02) ... Won all three even ts she entered against San Diego State (l 1- 10-0 l) .. . Helped USD defeat Air Force (11-2-02) winning three events in– cluding a four-second victory in the 200 Fly (2:05.64). Sophomore in 2000-01 : Earned PCSC Swimmer of the Year, USD's Most Valuable Swimmer and First Team AII– PCSC as a sophomore ... Set six USD school records and

Carolyn Gorrick owns USO school records in both individual butterfly events.

four PCSC records ... At 2001 PCSC Championships, placed l'' in the 400 IM (4:22.87), l'' in the 200 IM (2:04.65) and 2 nd in the 200 Butterfly (2:03.0 l) ... Led four USD relay teams to 1st place finishes, 200 Medley Relay (l :47.48) , 400 Medley Relay (3:52.73) , 400 Free Relay (3:29 .29) and the 800 Free Relay (7:37. l 0)... Set new PCSC and USD record in the 800 Free Relay...The 400 Free Relay and 400 Medley Relay times were new USD school marks. Freshman in 1999-00: Had an outstanding freshman season at USD ... Earned AII-PCSC First Team honors at the 2000 PCSC Championships.... Placed 1st in the 200 Fly (2:02.82) and 200 IM (2:06.61) .. .. Placed 2nd in the 100 Fly event (57.55) ... Gorrick also helped USD to two relay championships; 400 Medley Relay (3:56. 14) and 800 Free Relay (7:39.99) ... Gorrick has already made her mark in the USD record books, setting a new 200 Butterfly record (2:02.82) and an 800 Free Relay record of (7:38.99). Prep: Attended Davidson High School in Sydney, Australia .... Swim team won state high school championship in 1995 & 1996.... Also lettered in cross-country. Personal: Chose USD because of the city, weather and beach.... Also recruited by Nebraska, Notre Dame, North Carolina and Washington .... Parents are Gill and Dennis Garrick.. .. Junior Phoenix, AR Xavier Prep Fly/Free/Distance


Junior in 2002-03: Competed at a high level in a number of events for USD as a junior... Swam a time of (2: 15.87) in the 200 yard Butterfly at the 2003 PCSC Championships... That time was good for third best for any Torero in 2003... Posted a conference top- l O time in the 1650 Freestyle (l 0:43.70) at the PCSC's 2003... Came in 15th in the 500 Freestyle (5: 18.92) at the conference championships. Sophomore in 2001 -02: Named First Team AII-PCSC in 2002.. . Placed l st in the 1650 Freestyle, l 0 th in the 500 Freestyle and l 0 th in the 200 Butterfly at the PCSC' s... Swam two Torero team-best times as a sophomore in both the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:29.33 and in the l 000 Freestyle with a time of l 0:32.30. Freshman in 2000-01 : Earned AII-PCSC First Team honors as a freshman .. Placed second in the 1650 Free (l 7: 15.92), 3,d in the 500 Free (5:05.67) and 16 th in the 200 Butterfly (2: 18.26) at the 2001 PCSC Championships. Prep: A four-year letter winner at Xavier College Prep ... Led her swim team to four straight State Championships... Co– Captain and Most Spirited Swimmer in her senior season ...
