Lara Dudek , MD is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care and laser vision

correction. Her practice, Heart of Texas Eye Institute, is located in Dripping Springs, TX, just west of Austin, TX.

Dr. Dudek treats patients with a wide variety of problems including diabetes, glaucoma, cataract, infections,

inflammatory disorders and dry eye. She offers the latest in cataract, laser vision correction and glaucoma surgery.

Personalized consultation and customized treatment plan is always the goal for for Dr. Dudek when she meets with

her patients. She takes time to explain a patient's eye problems and treatment or surgical options and makes sure

that questions are answered to a patient's best understanding. Dr. Dudek insists on quality testing and diagnostics to

ensure the best results.

Dr. Dudek received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Electrical Engineering followed by

her medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University. She completed a general medicine internship and

Providence St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, Oregon before training in San Antonio for her ophthalmology

residency at University of Texas Health Sciences Center.

Lara Dudek, MD is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Texas Ophthalmology Association,

Austin Ophthalmological Society, Texas Medical Association, Travis County Medical Society, Christian

Ophthalmology Society and the Refractive Surgery Alliance. She is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and holds

medical privileges at a number of hospitals in the Austin area and four ambulatory surgery centers. Throughout her

medical career, Dr. Dudek has traveled to distant satellite communities to care for patients where medical resources

are more scarce. Currently, she is serving in the town of Eagle Pass on the Texas border.

Dr. Dudek lives with her husband and two children in Dripping Springs, TX where she involves herself in

community projects, community education, is active in a local church and a busy mom. She enjoys many hobbies

and interests and is an avid traveler, cook and photographer. Some of her most meaningful experiences have been

restoring vision through cataract surgery mission trips in Central America. Dr Dudek's next project will take her to

Peru with the Christian Broadcasting Network in 2019.
