Capital Project Description: The Richard W. Kanode Farm Park property was donated to Frederick County for the sole use of providing future educational and recreational programming related to agricultural and equestrian pursuits. The property is further encumbered with a perpetual agricultural easement that restricts how the site can be developed and used by the public. In order to determine the best use of the property, a Park Design Concept Plan will need to be completed. A Design Concept Plan is the first step in development and creates a long-range comprehensive vision for the park. During this process, the site is considered in context of the surrounding neighborhood, as well as one park of many within the Frederick County Parks and Recreation system. When approved, this document will serve as a decision making tool to be referred to during final design and the construction of this project.
