The primary air is used to regulate the supply of combustion air which is drawn from underneath, over the ash pan and grate towards the fuel. Therefore, you must make sure that the ash pan is never completely filled with ash, as the ash could block the influx of combustion air. The secondary air controls the quantity of air necessary to burn mainly the flammable products that are ge- nerated in the combustion compartment during the burning of wood. Some of the secondary air that flows from the top to the door minimizes soiling of the glass (cleaning of the door by air). As soon as the stove is heated up after starting the fire, close the primary air supply (lever in the middle).. When the oven is not in operation, position the lever to the left – primary and secondary air closed.
