His experience provides evidence of the need for on the job learning and development of Jamaica’s youthful population. The opportunities for engaging this market in outsourcing training is significant and will be mutually beneficial to all stakeholders. Jamaican youth have a unique perspective on the world; they are also smart and desirous of learning for growth. With effective management they will provide loyal service of high quality to the BPO sector. Anthony subscribes to the view that Jamaica urgently needs a strong business culture and the BPO sector provides an opportunity for contribution. Jamaican students are hungry for knowledge, adapt well, are easily trained and have a propensity to offer high quality service but require effective management and careful nurturing to mold appropriate attitudes. This potential requires innovative management to craft the appropriate motivation going forward. The return is likely to be substantial. Anthony Hutchinson, ACCA member, ACCA Global
