The International Solar Energy Society’s (ISES) solar world congress (SWC) is an internationally recognized event connecting industry experts and analysts with executives and key-decision makers. Founded in 1954, the biennial SWC is described as embodying “the spirit of international communication advanced by ISES. The objective of the SWC is to foster and promote communication among the research community, industry and political players.” Hosted by the Korean solar energy society, the theme of this year's event is Achieving the Renewable Energy Transformation, and will focus on trends, innovations, technological advancements, global policies, developments and market forecasts. SWC will be held at Daegu, Korea, from 8 th to 12 th November 2015. Pakistan’s Sindh government has decided to construct its own 132kV transmission line for evacuating power from SNPCL and SNPCL phase-1 to K-E KDA. National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has sought comments from stakeholders and will hold a public hearing for a transmission license to Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company (STDC). Sindh government, according to the petition, established STDC to carry out national grid power evacuation frompower generation projects. Initially, the STDC is considering a power transmission line of approximately 75km from Sindh Nooriabad Power Company (Pvt) Ltd (SNPCL) and Sindh Noonabad Power Company (Pvt) Ltd Phase-II SNPCL, to KDA scheme 33 grid station of K-Electric at Karachi. Power generation is expected early 2016. The bid for construction of the project included survey, design, tower staking, foundations, erection, stringing, testing and commissioning of a double circuit 132kV transmission line. After technical and financial evaluation of the bids, M/s Technoman Kinetics (Pvt) Ltd qualified as the successful bidder. Pakistan secures its own power
