Notice of Nominations for the Milk Pooling Producer Review Board Nomination Deadline: May 1, 2017 The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is seeking nominations from California market milk producers for individuals to fill vacant positions on the Milk Pooling Producer Review Board (Board). CDFA will specifically task the Board to meet regularly to develop a detailed proposal regarding a stand-alone Quota program in response to the recommended decision released by USDA to establish a California Federal Milk Marketing Order (CA FMMO). It is anticipated that market milk producers on the Board will focus on this task until it is completed and advise the Secretary of the proposal. Nominations are due on May 1st, with the hope that appointments will be made by May 10th and a first meeting could be held at the end of May. Persons interested in serving on the Board, or interested in nominating someone to serve on the Board should submit a signed nomination form to the department.

Official Identification Requirement for Dairy Cattle Moving within California

The California Department of Food and Agriculture, Animal Health Branch, proposed various changes to the California Code of Regulations.

On April 1, 2017 , changes to animal disease traceability regulations, including requirements for movement of cattle, identification, documentation, and specific livestock diseases, go into effect. The regulation changes can be found in Chapters 2 and 7, Division 2 of Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations. These include the requirement that:

1. All dairy cattle born after January 1, 2017 must be officially identified prior to leaving their birth premises, unless moving directly to an approved tagging site.

2. All dairy cattle changing ownership also require official identification unless moving directly to:

An approved tagging site
