Threshold Celebrates 40th Year Anniversary: Leading the Wellness Revolution ™ … Then and Now

Valued Business Partners: Both Tom and I are excited to announce Threshold’s 40 year anniversary. We want to share our celebration with you, along with our employees, past and present, who have done so much to make today possible. Without your business partnership and our shared values, we would have not achieved this important milestone. Today we are the largest non-food nutritional supplement and body care distributor in the US, with over 700 employees. We have a new, 142K-square-foot Eastern Distribution center, dedicated to setting new records for customer service. We have also built two highly respected brands, Source Naturals® and Planetary® Herbals. Each embodies our commitment to innovation and holistic formulations, which integrate science and traditional wisdom for enhanced health benefits. In celebration of our 40th year, we want to share a few significant chapters of our story that you may not know about. Here’s a look at the important milestones that shaped us as a company, supported our industry and the wellness of our customers. Starting the Revolution: The Early Days Like many entrepreneurs, I started Threshold to change the world for the better. The industry was then in its infancy. It was made up of natural health advocates and pioneers; all true believers in the unlimited potential of natural healthcare. Transforming healthcare for the betterment of humanity became my vision for Threshold. I named our cause the Wellness Revolution™ . This revolution called for a holistic approach to healthcare that includes personal empowerment, health education, disease prevention, and a healthy diet and the use of nutritional compounds as essential tools of healing. After starting out on my own, I soon enlisted other natural health advocates in the cause. We personally marketed just a few herbs and vitamins. As our product line and team grew, we looked for new ways to serve our customers. The result was the industry’s first telemarketing sales team. New scientific discoveries and research validating the health-changing power of supplements and herbs fueled our growth in the early days and continues today. Threshold was one of the first companies to bring products like Chlorella, Reishi, Psyllium Husk, Spirulina, CoQ10, Lutein, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and BioPQQ® 1 to the US market. Later on, we would be early leaders and advocates for Krill Oil, Resveratrol, Triphala, and Phosphatidyl Serine. Innovating for Wellness Our commitment to innovation for wellness led to the creation of our own brands: Source Naturals® and Planetary® Formulas, now Planetary® Herbals. Both became formulation game changers. Source Naturals’ flagship product Wellness Formula® broke new ground in the industry with a signature holistic formula combining herbs, vitamins, and nutraceuticals for advanced health benefits. Planetary Herbals also led “change for good” by integrating the world’s three herbal traditions into powerful formulas uniquely validated through herbal clinical experience.
