Ladies Aid

Remember the Ladies Aid Fair Thursday August 4 th at the Hall from noon to 2:30 p.m. There’s our fabulous lunch; a room full of treasures such as hand-knit socks, gloves, sweaters, and hats; wonderful cards and Christmas ornaments; and crafty items. And don’t forget the home-baked goodies and fudge or the fantastic White Elephant Sale!! Contact Jane Frizzell (846-4937) for contributions and details. All are invited to attend the Ladies Aid gatherings each Thursday at the Parish House from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Chebeague Fire and Rescue will be hosting their annual open house at the fire station on Saturday August 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All are invited to attend. Burn permits are available for free through Ralph or Kim Munroe and Lisa Israel or online for a cost of $7 ($2 of which goes to the town) at www13.informe.org/burnpermit/public/index.html . As quite often happens this time of year, we are experiencing extremely high fire danger days. Please be aware and follow the rules before starting any fires. All fires must be attended at all times and require a burn permit. Sew Good

Sew Good meets the fourth Wednesday of the month; our next gathering will be August 24 at the Parish House. Join us to start, share, or complete a project. We have sewing machines available for use. We are working on lots of projects for the good of the community, such as making napkins for Island Commons and book bags for the Guatemala Grace Project.
