Paper Streets —This summer, the Board of Selectmen will hold a series of seven public hearings for the various subdivisions containing paper streets (46). The property owners who abut the paper streets will be formally invited. The streets will be evaluated for potential benefits, feasibility, financial impact, and legal considerations before appropriate options are determined. The voters of Chebeague Island will have the final say in the disposition

Paving Project for August 2016— We will chip seal almost five miles of road that has been cold-mix paved since 2012. This includes portions of North, South, John Small, Littlefield, and Roy Hill roads. We will also pave the entrance to the Transfer Station and the Public Safety Building parking area. No specific dates have been set. We will post information as it becomes available.

Bulky Waste Weekend— We will accept bulky waste and some hazardous waste at the Town Garage on August 6 and 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please look for flyers around town for more details. Property Taxes Due — The second half of property taxes was due April 1, 2016. Interest on the amount due April 1 began to accrue April 2, 2016. If you have questions about the amount due, please call the Town Office (207-846-3148.) The tax lien process will begin soon.
