What’s summer without special events? Join us for some fun, safe programs sure to make your summer days really special. Each week will be something new and include arts, crafts, games, contests and more. Most events will have all supplies on hand; however, a notice will be sent if you need to bring anything. WEEKLY SPECIAL EVENTS

PAINTED ROCKWALK Let’s spread some joy and fun with cool rock art! Color, write an inspirational message or draw a funny picture or an awesome animal. After we’re done we’ll take a walk through the park and leave our rocks for others to find! Lions Park, 1103 Adams St. Day Dates Time Ages Cost Code Tues July 14 10-11:15 a.m. 5-12 $5 YSE 714 Registration deadline: One week prior NATURE SCAVENGER HUNT Come and discover what cool things nature has in store for us and create something totally new. We’ll head out on a fun walk through the park while looking for various items like leaves, sticks, flowers and rocks. After we collect our items, we’ll create a work of art with what you’ve found. Memorial Park, 1801 County Highway 101 Day Dates Time Ages Cost Code Tues July 21 10 a.m.-Noon 5-12 $5 YSE 721 Registration deadline: One week prior TRAIL EXPLORERS Venture out on a morning filled with discovery. Bring your bike, trike or scooter, and we’ll explore some of Shakopee’s awesome parks and trails. After our trip we’ll enjoy a cool treat. A helmet is required for this program. MINUTE TOWIN IT CHALLENGE Think you can master these challenges? Give it your best shot and cheer on your friends as they try their hand at completing these tests in less than a minute. All materials will be provided. Youth Building at Lions Park, 1099 Adams St. Day Dates Time Ages Cost Code Tues Aug. 4 10-11:30 a.m. 5-12 $5 YSE 804 Registration deadline: One week prior SIDEWALK CHALK CONTEST Get those creative juices flowing and make some fun, inspiring and awesome art using sidewalk chalk. Everyone will get a sectioned-off portion of a trail to create their coolest design. Parks and Recreation staff will come through at the end of the day and award the top artists with a fun summer activity pack.
