Alcalá 1987

Have you ever wondered who puts this fabulous yearbook together and what these peopleactually do in orderto create this wonderful publication? Well to start off we have a staff which consists of photographers, layout people, and copy writers. Our fearless leader, Editor-in- Chief Madeleine Ferbal, is in charge of making sure that deadlines are met, proper proceduresare used, and that all of us show up at the meetings even though wehave a million excuses not to attend. Somehow or another we all pull together and get the job done. There are times when even we wonder how it all comes together. Our photographers are an observant group who have a keen eye for seeing what's happeningaround campus. They somehow come up with front row seats at all the major events in order to capture USD at itsbest. Our PhotographicEditor is Jennifer Vallely. She has done an outstanding job of getting her photo staff to do their assignments. Jennifer herself is also an excellent, award winning photographer. The copywriters are those who write all those wonderfully true things about all of you. They gather information from all dif ferent sources in order to create an in teresting, accurate depiction about the people and events at USD. After all of this is done it is up to the layout staff, under the direction of Layout Editor Nicole Sturm, to put the copy and pictures down on paper. They are respon sible fordesigning the look of the Alcala yearbook. They select the best pictures and incorporate them into a layout which is pleasing to theye. Our advisor, Sr.Miriam Kaeser, has al ways been around not only with en couraging words but has also helped out at deadline times. The Ghost of Year books Past. Mary Markovinovic, is still around and has helped out a great deal. Creating a yearbook is definitely a team effort. This year's staff has once again proved tobe a winning combination.
