GOLF

The golf team for the 1986/87 season seemed exceptionally skilled. Thereturn of some of last year's top players plu several freshmenwho wereoutstanding on their high school teams provided extra strength and depthfor this past season. Among the returning seniors were last year's Most Valuable Player Nonie Taguiam, who placed fifth in the college division of the Southern California Intercollegiate Golf Cha ionships; Dave Kingsley, Dave Rollins and Tony Ciccarelli. Also returning tothe team were juniors DanGeiger and John Schabacker, and sophomore Geoff Dean, who was last year's Most Im­ proved Golferand hadthe team low round in matches with Point Loma and West Point. New to the team thisyear were junior Paul Kubala and freshmen Andy Dalhamer, Rick Schultz, Kevin O'Brien, Mark Yarter and Bo Venerdi. The USD Invitational Golf Tournament was held at the San DiegoCountry Club for the third year in early March.
