Halloween Party “Famous Couples” 2018 by Marleen Hacker

Eighty members had a real “trick or treat party” on October 27 eating, drinking, and dancing the night away. Many thanks to Judy Konigsberg, Ethel Schultz and their committee; Martina, Ashish and all the staff at Food and Beverage for planning and decorating this wonderful event. Once again, Bernd our chef, was very creative with his culinary skills. Some delicious dishes included were “Frankenstein Caesar Salad”, “eyeball caprese salad”, “spooky kale salad”, “road kill olive chicken”, “headless shrimp cantonese” “death by chocolate cake”, and “scary cookies” to name just a few. The theme this year was to come as a couple, or a famous person and many members were especially creative this year. Linda and Steve Epstein were dressed as a gangster and his mol from the Roaring Twenties, and Jeri and Norman Jacobs came as pirates. Once again, Jan Tighe did a remarkable make up job, and she and Chris were Raggedy Ann and Andy. Marleen Hacker and Allan Eisinger came as the Adam’s Family, only Allan dressed as Morticia and Marleen as Gomez. “Mickey D”, Bill Coleman, and Keith Lang, the DJ’s that night, played all of our favorite music from the 70’s. They never took a break, and members never took a break off the dance floor. Everyone had fun dancing and singing and reminiscing.

Congratulations to our third place winners Connie and Michael Forman, who were so adorable and dressed as “Wilma and Fred Flintstone”.

Lynn and Barry Byrd, made a cute “Bavarian” couple and were dressed for Octoberfest in their Lederhosen attire and came in second place.

Judy and Paul Konigsberg deserve first place for dressing courageously in tights and a fig leaf, as “Adam and Eve”.
