If you want a great start to a career with animals, then Hartpury offers a dedicated environment to provide you with the practical skills, qualifications and experience employers are looking for to succeed in this thriving industry. The Animal Management Centre is equipped with all kinds of different animals from small mammals such as rabbits to larger animals like llamas! You’ll get plenty of experience handling the animals as well as developing all the animal management and scientific skills and knowledge required for a range of careers. Our facilities for Animal Management and Animal Science students continue to develop, with the centrepiece being our fantastic walled garden; home to our meerkats, birds and rodents. On top of this, we have laboratories, dedicated reptile and aquatics rooms and enclosures where students can work with emus, wallabies and rare-breed goats. For our Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma students, we offer a fantastic opportunity to go on a residential study tour to Borneo, where you can experience wild flora and fauna first hand within a biologically diverse environment and appreciate a culture very different to our own. We’ve even recently invested in a new dog agility arena! Plus of course, students benefit from access to the domestic species at Hartpury’s Home Farm and to our exceptional equine facilities.
