PUBLIC BOAT RAMPS Cape Coral's waterways can be accessed by watercraft via five improved public boat ramps including: u BMX Boat Ramp 1509 SW7th Court Launches into Shelburne Canal which connects with several freshwater canals as well as Alhambra Lake, Lake Kennedy and Saratoga Lake. u Burnt Store Boat Ramp 230 Burnt Store Road South Launches into Rosemary Canal (saltwater) which connects with several canals and leads to Matlacha Pass. u Horton Park Boat Ramp 2600 SE 26th Place Launches into Chantry Canal (saltwater) which connects with the Caloosahatchee River south of the mid-point bridge. u Rosen Park Boat Ramp 2414 SE 15th Terrace Launches into Everest Canal (saltwater) which connects with the Caloosahatchee River just north of the mid-point bridge. u Yacht Club Boat Ramp 5819 Driftwood Parkway Launches into Redfish Cove (saltwater), which is a part of the Caloosahatchee River, south of the Cape Coral bridge.
Cape Coral's boat trailer parking program was established to help reduce boat ramp traffic and provide funding for additional security and future ramp improvements. This program requires boaters to pay a $10 daily fee to park their boat trailers at Cape Coral's five improved boat ramp locations while they are out on the water. Through a partnership with Passport , drivers are able to pay to park from their smartphone, tablet or computer. The Passport Parking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. If a boater does not have a smartphone, they can call (239) 424-9459 to register with Passport. When using the Passport Parking app, boaters are reminded to enter the tow vehicle license plate number and not the trailer plate number when entering payment information. Important Note: When entering payment information, Passport will require that boaters enter the zone number of the boat ramp location where they will be parked. Please see the Boat Ramp zone numbers listed below:
Boat Ramp Locations:
Zone #: Boat Ramp Locations: Zone #:
BMX Park 1959 Burnt Store 1961 Yacht Club 1957 Horton Park 1958 1960 Rosen Park
When using the iPhone app or internet site to pay for boat trailer park - ing, please be sure to pay BEFORE launching your vessel. Cape Coral Park Rangers & Law Enforcement personnel patrol the five park loca - tions daily and must issue violation tickets to any vehicles/trailers that do not pay the daily fee or have a current resident or commercial decal.
ANNUAL PARKING DECALS As another option to paying a $10 daily parking fee, Cape Coral residents may purchase an annual decal for only $50 (+ tax) allowing them to park their boat trailers as many times as they wish over the course of the year. There is also a provision for commercial Cape Coral businesses to purchase annual decals for $100 (+ tax) each. The provision applies to for-profit businesses, based in Cape Coral, which provide guide services, boat trips, construction, and other services on the water. Annual parking decals are only available to Cape Coral residents and Cape Coral based businesses, and they are valid one year from the date of purchase. They may be purchased at the Parks & Recreation reception desk in City Hall (239-573-3128) or at the front counter of the Yacht Club Ballroomwith cash, check, or credit card. Required to Bring: ■ Driver's license and vehicle registration ■ Proof of Cape Coral residency (i.e. local utility bill) with corresponding name and address on it. BOATING SAFETY Prior to boating, particularly in a new environment, it is recommended that people familiarize themselves with boating safety and etiquette . FISHING With its vast canal system and convenient location on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, Cape Coral offers several fishing opportunities for both freshwater and saltwater activity. Prior to dropping lines in the water, it is important that people be aware of, and adhere to Florida fishing license requirements and laws in order to avoid potential citations. The best source of information for current fishing rules and regulations, license fees, exemptions, measurements, seasons, species, and other “fish facts” both for saltwater and freshwater fishing is the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) website at www.MyFWC.com. KAYAKING / CANOEING / SUP With so much water located in and around Cape Coral, kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddle boarding are all popular activities enjoyedbylocalsandvisitorsalike.Thepopular GreatCalusaBlueway is a 190-mile marked canoe and kayak trail that encompasses three distinct regions of the Gulf of Mexico coast, ranging fromopen waters to sheltered mangrove creeks, and easily accessible fromCape Coral. For a complete list of rules and regulations concerning recreational boating inFlorida, visit theBoatingpageof theFloridaFishandWildlife Conservation Commission's website at http://myfwc.com/boating/. KAYAK LAUNCHES For those who have their own kayak, canoe or SUP and wish to explore the area on their own, there are several Cape Coral parks where people are permitted to launch their vessels from. In addition to the five public boat ramps, highlighted on page 8, additional kayak launch locations include: d Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve Launch is located adjacent to the Kayak Shack and allows kayakers to access the various saltwater creeks located within and around Four Mile Cove just north of the mid-point bridge. d Tropicana Park (unimproved) Narrow, unimproved kayak launch with access to the Calusa Blueway (saltwater) via Matlacha. d Saratoga Lake Park New ADA accessible kayak launch located on the southeast side of the park that launches into the same freshwater canal system as BMX Boat Ramp. d Sirenia Vista Park ADA accessible kayak ramp located on the northwest side of the park that provides easy access to the Calusa Blueway (saltwater). There is not a parking fee at any of these locations unless a boat trailer is used, in which case the Boat Trailer Parking Program fee applies. NEW! The Cape Coral Yacht Club Pier is now licensed for public fishing! (Individual license not required.) The Yacht Club also offers daily fishing pole and tackle rentals, with spinning and push button reels available.
