15th January. Twenty-seven members present. Statutory Committee.

A letter was read from the Chief Justice appointing the following members of the Council to be the Statutory Committee for the year ending 26th November, 1931 : The President (Mr. Orr), Mr. Seales, Mr. Burne, Mr. Quirke, Mr. Sheridan, Mr. Tallan and Mr. Thompson. «' Legal Diary." A letter in reply was read from the publishers of the " Legal Diary," stating that they were authorised to issue an edition for occasions on which the Circuit Court (of Dublin) alone is sitting. Approval Fees. A letter was read from a County Registrar, written by direction of the Circuit Court Judge, inquiring what is the established custom with regard to giving of credit for approval fees received by a vendor's Solicitor in the case of registered land. A reply was

OBITUARY. MR. MICHAEL J. SPEARS, Solicitor, died on 13th January, 1931, at Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. Mr. Spears served his apprenticeship to Mr. John E. Wallace, Mullingar, and to the late Mr. B. J. O'Flaherty, Enniscorthy ; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1922, and practised at Dungarvan. MR. HERBERT C. SCOTT, Solicitor, died on 15th January, 1931, at BaUyclare, Co. Antrim. Mr. Scott served his apprenticeship to his father, the late Mr. John G. Scott, of Larne, was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1919, and practised at BaUyclare.
