Mr. PATRICK J. MORAN, Solicitor, died on the 22nd January, 1932, at his residence, 173 Strand Road, Merrion, Co. Dublin. Mr. Moran served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. William Scallan, Dublin ; was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1901, and practised at 39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin. MR. PATRICK R. BUGGY, Solicitor, died on the 30th January, 1932, at Dublin. Mr. Buggy served his apprenticeship with Mr. Henry D. Keane, Waterford; was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1907, and practised at Waterford up to 1930, when he retired. ____ NEW MEMBERS. The following have joined the Society : Joseph P. Black, Clones. Section 52 of this Act provides as follows : " A right to be registered as the owner of " any registered land in derogation of the " title of the registered owner shall not be " acquired by any mere possession, however " long, commencing after the first registra- " tion of the land, but where any person but " for the provisions of this Act would have " obtained a title by mere possession to any " registered land, he may apply to the Court " in the prescribed manner for an order " declaring his title to such land, and the " Court, if satisfied that such title would " have been acquired but for the provisions " of this Act, may make an order declaring " such title, and ordering the register to be . made under the above-recited Section was recently before Mr. Justice Wylie on motion, and he held that the order did not effect a transfer or vesting of the property named therein, and the Revenue Commissioners have acquiesced in this decision, and Revenue Duty will not in future be payable on such orders. SOLICITORS' BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION The Directors have elected the following to be the Honorary Officers for 1932 : Chairman Mr. Joseph E. MacDermott. Vice-Chairman Mr. Edward D. Mac- Laughlin. Hon. Secretary Mr. F. C. E. Bland. The annual subscription to the Association is one guinea, and it should be sent to the Secretary, Mr. Patrick Glynn, Solicitor, 22 Nassau Street, Dublin. 1932. The Final Examination will be held on the 4th and 5th days of April, in the Solicitors' Buildings, Four Courts, Dublin.
