Cultural Arts had an amazing year! We strove to bring entertaining and educational events to USD students. By the end of the year we had brought to USD memo– rable progams such as Fusion, which hightened stu– dents' culturalappreciationthroughmusicanddance. We also gave students the opportunity to explore the world of the arts with a memorable spring highlight to the musical Miss Saigon in L.A. The Cultural Arts Directors relied completely on the CulturalArts Board, . a group of individuals who made possible these two events, as well as many, many more. Cultural Arts is a section of AS that celebrates culture, music, and art, and gives the directorships an exciting and unlimited opportunity to share these talents with USD studnets.

This year was full of exciting innovations for Public Relations . Many of them had to do with our major responsibility the Com– municator. This year three major goals were accomplished, the Communicator was printed on recycled paper for the first time, a student organizations newsletter was cre– ated and inserted in conjunction with I.CC., and the Communicator was displayed and available on an easel in front of the cafeteria each month for easy accessibility. In addi– tion to these accomplishments,"This Week in A.S." a bi-weekly calendar system was started and placed in front of the A.S. Ex– ecutive Office and the cafeteria inform stu– dents of activities, meetings, and events of both A.S. and clubs and organizations. We hope that these new precedents will be con– tinued in the future and that they are the first of many.
