The mission the NROTC is to educate and train the future officers of the United States Navy and Marine Corps. As well as taking a full course load, NROTC midshipmen take classes in such naval fields as ship systems, navigation, and amphibious operations. In the classroom they learn the importance of such qualities as integrity, initiative, and accountability. Traditionally, the quality of officers produced by the NROTC at USD is exceptional.
