Let my world view and personal philosophy be of God alone. 9. FOCUS ON REJOICING: Conclude with a time of rejoicing, giving yet more praise to God. “For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.” The great prayer closes with a doxology (a hymn or form of words containing an ascription of praise to God). The prayer began with praise and worship. Coming full circle now, we conclude our prayer with worship. Every prayer should begin in praise and end in praise, because praise is the sum total of all true prayer. These are the things that we attribute to God in a doxolo- gy: power, riches, wisdom, might, honor, glory, blessing, dominion, greatness, victory, majesty, authority, and thanksgiving. Look up these passages: 1 Chronicles 29:11; 2 Chronicles 20:6; 1 Peter 4:1 1; Jude 25; Revelation 4:8, 11; 5:12,13; 7:12; 11:17; 15:3-4. Read these magnificent words as part of your prayer. Say the words in the spirit and intensity with which they were written. “Amen!” which means “may it be so” expresses our con- fidence that God will honor our petitions. Adding it to our prayer is like the judge striking his desk with a gavel, proclaiming, “Court adjourned.” Consider ending a ses-
