Awaken The Dawn

AWAKEN THE DAWN!

do you do with a report like that, especially when you feel so deeply that your church is more spiritual?! Two things brought me out of that quagmire. First, in my study of prayer, I was impressed at how often Paul spoke of giving thanks for other Christians: [I] do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers. 4

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all. 5 We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers. 6 We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren. 7

After reading such statements, there was only one thing left for me to do. I actually learned to lift my hands and thank God for people that bothered me. I discovered that it works for relatives too! Call people by name and liter- ally say out loud: “Thank you Lord for so and so. I appre- ciate what you are doing in him/her. Bless them abun- dantly to know and do Your will.” The concept of thanksgiving can work for all of us. Mothers, for instance, have given birth to handicapped children and have turned a tragedy into a wonderful vic- tory by learning to give thanks. A man in our church found it nearly impossible to work under a certain female supervisor. Prayers of thanksgiving for the situation brought a wonderful resolution to the problem.
