The Record 2014 - 2015

Rugby Mark Hanslip, Master i/c Rubgy

Rugby is still the mainstay of the winter term and as many as 15 teams were fielded on some Saturdays. The 1st XV had a mixed season with some extremely close matches and a very strong win over Radley at the end of term. The 2nd XV played with skill and resilience although they struggled to achieve results that reflected their effort. The 3rd XV had good wins and the 4th XV played with enjoyment and camaraderie. The Colts had a difficult season but the A’s won convincingly over Cheltenham College, MCS and Rugby and the B’s finished the season with an emphatic win over Malvern 41-12. The Junior Colts played well and the A’s only lost twice during a season that included decisive wins v Abingdon, Rugby, Cheltenham and Malvern. The B’s enjoyed a run of three unbeaten games at the beginning of the season and also secured a spectacular 55-0 win away at Clifton. The highlight for the C’s was a 27-15 away win at The Oratory. The Yearlings teams enjoyed their introduction to Rugby at St Edward’s and although they struggled to pick up many wins they showed signs of promise. The A’s led Radley 14-0 in the first half, although they ultimately lost the match. The B’s won against Abingdon and the C’s against The Oratory. 1st XV
