Stock Your Winter Vehicle Whether it’s a mild winter or one of the worst you’ve seen in a while, there are some essential items you should put in your vehicle to prepare for the season ahead. You probably already have a spare tire and jack as well as the car’s manual. But in case you find yourself stranded or in disrepair, here are some additional items you may want to carry. • duct tape • jumper cables (and instructions) • first aid kit • flashlight (and batteries) • multi-tool

• scissors or utility knife • spare water and snacks • matches and candle • maps (don’t rely on your smartphone in an emergency) • contact info for roadside assistance, etc. • ice scraper • blanket • shovel and sand • appropriate winter clothing
