 A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing. 2765

CCLD will verify these qualifications when it reviews the application for a child care center license. If an existing licensed child care center seeks to change its director, it must provide CCLD verification that the new director is qualified to serve as director. 2766 The preschool must also secure and maintain verification that the newly hired director attended the CCLD orientation within 90 days of his or her employment within the preschool. 2767 If the director is absent, arrangements must be made for a fully qualified teacher, trained in program operation, to act as a substitute. 2768 This substitute director must be aware of all preschool operations, including total enrollment, and shall be designated as an authorized person to correct operational deficiencies that constitute an immediate threat to the health and safety of the children. 2769 If the director will be absent for more than 30 consecutive days, this substitute director must meet the qualifications of a fully-qualified director. 2770
