CHEESE COUNTRY TRAIL

Beginning in Monroe and running just south of Cadiz Springs, the multi-use 47-mile Cheese Country Trail is open to horses

and bicyclists, but is heavily traveled by motorized users like ATVs, dirt bikes and quads. Snowmobiles are also welcome when conditions permit. A large trailhead parking lot is located at the intersection of 21st Street and 4th Avenue West. Look for what appears to be a giant smokestack; actually steam being generated from Badger State Ethanol. City routes provide access to lodging, the downtown Square, restaurants and bars, as well as camping (and additional parking) at the Green County Fairgrounds. A $15 trail sticker is required for users other than ATVs, but ATVers are encouraged to support the trail by purchasing stickers too.
