When the Junction Jammers start playing, toes start moving, fingers start tapping, and some are moved to the dance floor. The Junction Jammers are retirees who perform at senior living facilities to brighten lives using, “the power of the polka,” and other old-time songs. They also have a regular ‘gig’ at the Junction House on the second Wednesday of the month. "This is their music, this is what they grew up with, and this is what they danced to,” said Kris McGinnis. “They appreciate what we're doing and there are plenty of rewards more valuable than a paycheck. For us, it’s one of the best things that has happened in our lives.” Members of Junction Jammers include: Kris McGinnis, accordion, spoons, and lots of hootin’ and hollerin’; Deb Thompson, accordion and usually a bag of tricks; Merikay

Pulver, Kris McGinnis, Dianne Whitney, Deb Thompson, and Ernst Saunders. They welcome and encourage anyone who wants to join them. They take June, July and August off from performing because, “Well, we have to golf sometime,” laughed Kris. The group also has a shout out to some of their spouses for being their ‘roadies’ and for moving equipment. The Junction Jammers started a short time after the 100th anniversary of Cheese Days in 2014 when 100 accordion players gathered to play the Cheese Days song. Besides playing at senior living facilities, the Junction Jammers play at schools, St. Johns Church, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Junction Fest,
