2. Holiday Scheduled, but Time Taken Off: Employee will receive regular day’s pay at straight time: Vacation, Personal, Sick, or Comp Time will not be deducted for day off; 3. Holiday Not Scheduled: Police Officers will receive 12 hours of Holiday Pay at straight time; Dispatchers will receive 8 hours of Holiday Pay at straight time;

An employee on layoff or leave of absence is not eligible for holiday pay.

Personal Leave Days are available during the first twelve (12) months of employment, but are accrued each July 1. Personal Leave shall be taken at the employee’s discretion, with the approval of the immediate supervisor. They do NOT accrue from year to year and are NOT reimbursed if unused. VACATION Tier I employees may accumulate a maximum of six (6) weeks of vacation. Employees may take vacation only with approval from his/her Department Head. Vacation time shall not be counted towards overtime. Employees leaving employment with the City shall be paid for unused, accumulated vacation time, up to a maximum of 6 weeks. On or shortly before each employee’s anniversary date, all employees shall review and attest to the correctness of his/her personnel card, including vacations and leaves accrued and taken, during evaluation process. Vacation accrues per the following table:

Vacation is accrued at a monthly rate compensatory to years of service. Vacation may be used only when an employee has completed his or her probationary period as defined at the time of hire. When an employee leaves employment, they may use or be paid for accrued vacation time, accrued to the date of termination; however, never more than six (6) weeks. Vacations must be approved by the department head. Vacation time will be scheduled in increments of five (5) scheduled workdays. Vacation may be taken in less than five (5) day increments with advance approval of the department head. The department head may require rescheduling of vacation when it is necessary for the efficient operation of the department. 30
