CLASS I WORK RULES

CLASS I work rules are examples of work rules, which if violated for the first time, will normally not result in discharge.

11. Attending to personal affairs on City time. 12. Unprofessional gossip or criticism which contributes toward reducing morale of visitors, employees, or the public we serve.

Loafing or lackadaisical performance of job assignments or disturbing others at work.

Failure to begin work at starting time.

Tardiness, absenteeism

13. Obscene or abusive language.

Working unauthorized hours or violation of work hours, rest periods, or lunch periods.

14. Conduct or appearance not in keeping with a professional image and/or position.

Unauthorized extension of breaks and/or lunch periods.

15. Poor hygiene

16. Failure to wear prescribed uniform or proper work apparel.

Working overtime hours without prior approval of the supervisor.

17. Creating or contributing to unsanitary conditions.

7.

Leaving the workplace during work hours without authorization.

18. Minor violations of City policies and/or procedures.

8.

Unnecessary socializing or extended visiting during working hours, whether in person, via telephone or electronic communications.

19. Sleeping during working hours or giving the impression of sleeping.

9.

Loitering or wasting time during working hours.

20. Posting, altering or removing any material on City bulletin boards unless specifically authorized to do so. 21. Failure to have adequate knowledge of the policies and procedures of the City.

10. Unauthorized or unnecessary time spent away from the assigned workstation.
