95-95 has been an ex– citing year for the USD Wo– men's center. Margie Gomez served as the first Director of the Center, which had it's grand opening in UC116. Through generous donations, the Women's Center built up a resource library with books that are available for students to check out. In addition, the option of personal alarms is also available for students.

The Center has worked to introduce a hotline number, and to rewrite the university's sexual harrassment policy. Our committee meets weekly for discussions and planning. Some of the programs that we sponsor are Women's Spirituality, Witches, Sex Passion and Inti– macy, by hilarious talk show host Ellen Gootblatt, Self Defense Workshops, and Women's History Month. The Center has also done a wonderful job in educating USD on issues like rape, feminism, and women in history. fi.S. Secretaries Sue
