 The median annual corporate IP budget for all respondents was $4,000,000. The median IP budget per full-time IP lawyer or agent was $833,333.  The IP budget, as reported by Corporate IP Department Heads, was most likely to remain the same – 49.3% for all respondents. One in five reported that their annual IP budget decreased from 2015 to 2016, and three in 10 indicated that it increased.  Slightly more than one-third reported that the reason for the budget change was a change in perceived value of IP within the organization. Another 31.4% said it changed because of economic growth.
