ASSOCIATE STARTING SALARY AND SUMMER MONTHLY PAY  The median number of summer associates devoted primarily to the practice of IP law during 2016 was 2.0. Of these summer associates, 1.0 received a full-time offer and accepted. The median monthly summer pay was $7,200 – lower than reported for 2014 ($8,000), but higher than reported for 2012 ($6,000).  The median starting salary for first-year associates rose from $105,000 in 2012 to $110,000 in 2014, and again to $120,000 in 2016. The highest median starting salary for a first-year associate was in Boston CMSA ($180,000), and lowest in Other East ($68,500).
