I Appeal To Caesar!

“Men, we have our assignment!” Saul announces,

hardly able to restrain his excitement!

“We leave at dawn after the next Sabbath for our greatest challenge yet, the city of Damascus. There are a number of synagogues and also Jews who profess this dead Jesus as the Christ and the Way of life. “I agree with High Priest Caiaphas that our success in this assignment may very well stop this exodus of Jews from Jerusalem! The future of our Temple, our city, and of Judaism itself rests upon our diligence and success. We must succeed, we will succeed! “Begin preparation! We will be riding horses, and we will need pack animals, food, equipment, weapons—and chains for the returning prisoners. Get the best of animals, supplies, and equipment. It will take a possible five days to reach the ancient city. I anticipate taking thirty to forty prisoners, perhaps more! Follow your usual preparations, and I will check with you tomorrow afternoon to see that all is in readiness. I now go to the great Temple to offer sacrifice for the success of our journey. May God grant His blessing on this holy cause!”
