I Appeal To Caesar!

Rachel and Amram are also told the prophet called “Jesus of Nazareth” teaches of a heavenly kingdom and how people can live on earth with peace in their hearts.

Everything seems too good to be true!

Amram and Rachel consume the stories of healing miracles that have taken place when Jesus visits an area. With troubled minds and fraught nerves, mother and son grasp this startling news as their last hope, concluding that somehow Rachel must be taken to meet Jesus!

“Oh, God of Abraham, Moses, and the Prophets, hear our

humble request!”

* * * * * Back in the High Priest mansion, Amram catches whisperings among the servants of Caiaphas about the Sanhedrin’s animosity toward Jesus. One frightening day, Caiaphas summons his servants. Forgetting his dignified position as spiritual leader of Israel, he rants and raves like a madman against Jesus and His teachings.

“Such abominable lies! First by their master and now

by the disciples!”

In harsh, insolent, abusive language he reviles and castigates both the teachings of Jesus and also those who believe in Him.

“They violate the Sabbath!”
