I Appeal To Caesar!

Chapter 7 The Fugitive The Great Escape

ortunately, no curious people travel down the ancient road the High Priest’s team is using. Saul and his five men hadn’t yet reached the main road leading to Damascus, so there are no observers of the dramatic fall of the six men and the surrealistic aftermath. Jesus Christ’s appearance to Saul occurred just before their caravan re-entered civilization. The fallen Pharisee sprawls on the ground in a heap, wiped out in mind and body. (When a person is struck by lightning and falls off his horse, he can get shaken up a bit!) Memory returns and Saul’s first question is: “What happened?” He immediately knows, however, his fall is only part of the problem! In his prone, disheveled condition, Saul knows he was stricken by the blinding Light of God, an amazing revelation of Jesus the Christ. In an instant, dramatic transformation of Saul’s outlook occurs; a revelation bursts within his brain! He now knows he has been dead wrong in His belief about Jesus—and villainous in his persecution of those who followed Him. “I am blind!” he gasps.

Will he ever see again?
