and groaning. Without pretense or apology, the team begins to pray aloud with a fury! This fervent prayer draws the attention of all passengers who form a great, outer circle of concern around the stricken man.

Paul raises his hand for silence!

While the team prays quietly, Paul boldly and loudly

addresses the distressed man’s crushed hand.

Gripping the sailor’s good hand, Paul prays with a fervency and authority that raises the hackles on each person’s necks. Addressing the hand with mangled fingers he declares healing for this man “In the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ!” The sailor stops groaning and writhing on the deck, he sits up dazed and looks with amazement at his once-injured hand. “Why, I AM HEALED! ” he shouts, jumping to his feet. A great roar of praise rises from the crowd of jubilant passengers and sailors! Paul calls for all those who have not yet believed on the Lord Jesus Christ to come forward and kneel, and the team will pray that God would save and heal them too! With a rush, more than a dozen people of all ages, including the ship’s captain, respond by kneeling with Paul and the healed sailor. The team of eight begin prayer and ministry for these new believers! What a joyful time they had! * * * * *
