I Appeal To Caesar!

Then again, the unexpected! Filled with great faith and the power of the Holy Spirit, Stephen fixes his gaze upward into the heavenly realm; he sees the glory and splendor of God, and Jesus standing up at the right hand of God.

Stephen raises his arm with index finger pointing

heavenward!

“LOOK!” Like a lightning bolt, his shrill cry rends the

air!

Pointing to a magnificent, brilliant white light, he shouts: “I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God to welcome me home! ”

Every head jerks up . . . but their eyes see nothing !

Blinded by hate, they react like enraged bulls! Covering their ears with their hands, screaming at the top of their lungs to drown out Stephen’s voice, the leaders charge and pounce on him with a vengeance. Some witnesses are paid ruffians. They yell their prearranged testimonies to make this perversion of justice look legal. The uninformed Sanhedrists who are present, stare in shocked amazement at what appears to be a spontaneous eruption of lynch mob action. Defying tradition and Scripture, Stephen is plucked up and dragged away to the stoning ground outside the city walls.
