Activities of the German group since January 2025 and scheduled activities: Advanced Training Seminar 17.02.2025 in Köln Topic: “Digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) in fracture mechanics”

Contents: Digitalization and the application of AI tools nowadays play an increasing role in many fields of mechanics and strength of materials. In the advanced training seminar several key topics have been addressed: Robot-assisted data acquisition in experimental mechanics; digital lab notebook and structured data storage/retrieval; methods for feature recognition from 2D and 3D data; exploratory data analysis to uncover unknown correlations; Deep learning-based methods for automated parameter determination.
