Pennington Infant School

Moyles Court School

A small schoolwith a big heart

P ennington Infant School staff and governors warm- ly welcome you to one of our open mornings for parents seeking a school place in Sep- tember 2020.  We are a small school with a big heart located within walk- ing distance of Lymington town centre. We are delighted to be able to work in close collabora- tion with neighbouring nursery and preschool provision, Pen- nington Juniors and Priestlands School giving an ‘all through’ experience for our children and their families. Every child matters in our school and we have high as- pirations for all our children. Pastoral care and welfare is at the heart of what we do and we understand that happy children learn. Our children and their families are supported to ena- ble the children to flourish and reach their full potential. Our team of committed teachers and supportive governors en- sure the absolute best for every child.

Our links with the wider com- munity are really important to us. We have a vast selection of amenities on our doorstep to enrich our inspiring, inclusive and imaginative curriculum. Our learning values of being resilient, evaluative, adaptable, co-operative and honest un- derpin everything we do. This encourages children to explore, take risks, challenge themselves and build strong foundations for a life-long love of learning. We are talent spotters giving our children an incredible start to their school education. We are able to offer wrap- around care from 8:00 am – 18:00, through our Early Bird, Night Owl’s after school club and sports activities every week. Our sports teams regularly take part in competitions with local schools. We are proud to have recently opened our new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) which provides children with even more sporting opportunities throughout the year.

We have a really active and welcoming Friends of Penning- ton Infants (PTA) who organise a variety of exciting events and fundraising activities through- out the year. The money raised is used to further enrich experi- ences for children.  We understand how precious the memories are that we build with your families at this impor- tant stage of children’s lives, and we work wholeheartedly to ensure they are as positive and encouraging as possible and will stay with you always.  To find out more about our school, visit our website www. pennington-inf.hants.sch.uk or visit our Facebook page www. facebook.com/Penninf We will be opening the doors to the school on Wednesday 16 October and Thursday 17 Oc- tober between 9.30 – 11.00am am for new parents. Please do come along and ask any ques- tions from our staff, children and governors.

W hen asked what makes a successful school, Rich- ard Milner-Smith, Head- master at Moyles Court School commented: “Quite simply, great teaching and learning. Great teachers inspire, motivate and generate a love of learning. Great teachers make learning fun and encourage children to be curi- ous. Great teachers recognise the needs of each individual child and give them the confidence to be independent. Great teachers are at the heart of every successful and happy school and I am very fortunate to work with such great teachers every day.”

Moyles Court (from age 3 to 16yrs) is uniquely positioned within the National Park and we believe that being confident, happy and stimulated leads to a successful academic experi- ence. Smaller class sizes, individ- ualised learning, great teaching, extensive after school provision, tailored transport and excellent pastoral care provide your chil- dren with the best possible start in life.  We celebrate another year of wonderful academic achieve- ment as our 2019 GCSE results continue to show the significant improvements being made at the school in recent years with anoth-

er successful year of GCSE results. Richard Milner Smith contin- ues: “Our core values are at the heart of our fabulous school and every child benefits and with a huge range of extra-curricular ac- tivities and an extensive network of bus routes, we are accessible to all those families who want their children to be happy, confi- dent and achieving in our glorious New Forest setting. We really are a true Forest School and we are proud to exercise our commoning rights and have a herd of ponies that have been recently released into the Forest.  Our children

are tracking Jemima, Juno and Darcey’s progress and our The New Forest herd offers us a per- fect window to educate our pupils about our unique surroundings. We also have a school Shetland pony called Oreo who is a firm favourite with our pupils and staff alike!” Moyles Court School is holding an Open Morning on Saturday 5th October, 10am-12.30pm – please do come and find out what wonderful learning happens here every day.
