Looking back on 2014... SPA was pleased to offer professional development through a variety of delivery formats and across a wide range of professional areas. The PD options for 2014 are summarised in this chart, with averages over the past five years also included. Some of the highlights from 2014 included: • The record number of CPD events including six CPD live online events Registration numbers were also at an all-time high – Branch events had a total of 1874 registrants, of which 395 were Traveller’s rates, and National CPD live online events had a total of 101 registrants for the live events, with a further 383 registrations to view the recording of the events. • The average evaluation ratings for Branch CPD events were also the highest on record – 4.7 out of 5 for the average Overall Event rating, and 4.8 out of 5 for the average Speaker Quality of Presentation rating. • The successful and well- attended 2014 National Conference in Melbourne. • Independent Study Resources being made available to members at no charge via the website – both the Ethics Education Package and the Evidence-Based Practice ISR. • The growth in the SPA online Member Communities. • Looking forward to this year – what’s planned for 2015? • We have a wonderful year planned for SPA professional development in 2015, including the National Conference in Canberra, monthly CPD live online events, and the 2015 National Tour by Associate Professor Jane McCormack – see over for more details.
