Did you know that Speech Pathology Australia has recently engaged the services of WorkPlacePLUS to provide a range of practical services to members? Human Resources and Industrial Relations Support

Anna Pannuzzo , director of WorkPlacePLUS has over 20 years of experience in areas such as Aged Care, Health and Community Services, TAFE, local government and higher education. Members can now call WorkPlacePLUS directly to receive advice on issues relating to: • employment of staff • contracts and awards • human resources • training and staff development. If you own a private practice and you would like to employ a staff member you can request: • clarification about whether the staff member should be a contractor or an employee • information about the Award that the new staff falls under • assistance with the recruitment process, such as developing an advertisement, reviewing applications and short listing, etc. • help with writing an employment contract.

The WorkPlacePLUS team can also offer a range of additional services at a fee for members. Services could include preparation of employee contracts, training, assistance with staff recruitment and restructuring, review of HR, OHS and WorkCover policies and procedures, and additional written advice. During the consultation, members will be informed when fees apply and what the estimated costs will be. This manual includes information and templates on issues such as performance management, equal opportunity, disciplinary and grievance policies, harassment and bullying, and procedures around termination and redundancy. The manual can be updated on an annual basis for an additional charge. Below are some examples of times when it might be helpful for members to call WorkPlacePLUS. If you would like to know more about ensuring your workplace is free of bullying and harassment issues, WorkPlacePLUS can: • provide direction on the steps to be taken to mitigate operator risks • conduct Respect and Responsibility Training to all staff in the practice.
