Critical permeability of valves and tubes Valves, filters, tubes and pipes can suffer from the often- critical issue of vapours and gases permeating through the materials they are made from. Just testing the materials can be misleading, as the manufacturing process can change the vapour permeability of materials by up to 400 per cent, so the finished component also needs to be tested.
