LIVIU MOCAN (Romania)

Liviu Mocan is a Christian artist, a famous sculptor from Romania. He graduated "Romulus Ladea" High School of Visual Arts, and then, the Academy of Visual Arts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. For one year he was artist in residence of two universities in the United States. His public artworks are renowned in the cultural centers on several continents.

“I am interested about the main themes of the human condition. For me, the art is that mountain from which I can reach the sky with my heart. It is the way I continuously learn about God, about the cosmos, about the world, about the human condition, and about art. Depending on the idea I want to express, I choose a material that creates, through its intrinsic nature, the feeling I am looking for. I have endless joy when I work. I love different materials, tools, and modern technologies.” His artworks reach a balance in a complex and unique universe, full of spirituality, verticality, mastery, strength and vibration. For years, the artist has been involved in metal sculpture, and the transparency, immateriality, the perception of another reality “behind” the sculpture.
