Brian Fogarty Associate Director ofAthletics for Athletic Development
Brian Fogarty enters his second year as USD' s Associate Director ofAthletics for Ath– letic Development. He took over this post after spending thirteen years as USD's head football coach. He directed USD's football program to eleven seasons of .500 or better 1,;;;;==;;;;..;;;;;;;..;;;==-i records and guided their move from the Divi- sion III ranks totheNCAAI-AAlevel in 1993. His primary responsibilities are with fund raising, and marketing and promotions for the athletic department. Brian and his wife Vicki, who reside in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego, have four children: Bridget (a senior at USD), Joe, Colleen and Megan.
Associate Director of Athletics Dan Yourg has been a member of the USD Athletics Department since the fall of 1985.
Yourg oversees football, baseball, men's basketball, golf, men's soccer, and men's and women's tennis. Yourg serves as the NCAA compliance coordinator for the entire USD athletic program. In addition, he is the department liaison to the University's Financial Aid Office. Yourg received his Bachelor's (Sociology, 1980) andMaster's (Social Work, 1986) degrees from the University of Wisconsin, where he was a nose guard on the Badgers' football team.
Dan and his wife Virginia, a USD alumnus, are the parents of -------– Wendy Guthrie two sons, John and Thomas.

Ted Gosen Director ofSports Information Ted Gosen is in his 16th year serving as USD's Director of Sports Information. His responsibilities include publicity of all 16 USD men's and women's sports, through press releases, publications and game day programs. He also is in charge of gathering game and cumulative statistics, and hosting media at USD home athletic functions. He is assisted
Wendy enters her second year on the USD staff, her first as the Assistant Director of Ath– letics and Senior Woman Administrator. Guthrie is a 1991 graduate of Whittier College (B.A. in Business Administration) where she was a member of the cross country and track team. Upon graduation she worked
as an admissions counselor and Assistant Director of Admi ssions at Whittier. She earned her Master's in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Administration at Springfield College in Massachusetts while working a fellowship for two years. After Spring– field she held the position of Assistant Director of Athletics at St. Francis College in Pennsylvania for one year. In 1995 she interned one year with the U.S. Olympic Festival.

Sara Dickmann
Academic Support Coordinator Sara begins her first year as USD's Aca– demic Support Coordinator. She has a B.S. degree in psychology from UCLA and a M.S. Degree in sport psychology from San Diego State. She has experience as a tutor/supervisor in athletics and as a teaching assistant in the EOP program at UCLA. Sara, who has pub– lished several articles in her field, also worked as an academic counselor at San Diego State. Steve Brown Strength & Conditioning Coach Steve begins his third year as the Univer– sity of San Diego Strength and Conditioning Coach. He came to San Diego from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsy lvania, where he was the Assistant Strength and Con– ditioning Coach since 1991 . A 1983 graduate ofBrown University (Bi– ology), Steve was a two-sport letterman in
duties, Ted is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA); assists the USD Hall ofFame Committee; is editor of Torero Sports Line; and teaches a bowling class each semester through the recreation department. Ted and his wife Terri, a 1983 USD graduate, reside in Poway with their four daughters: Katie, Colleen, Claire and Erin. Carolyn Greer, M.A. , A.T.C. HeadAthletic Trainer
Carolyn Greer enters her twentieth year as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer for the University of San Diego athletic department. A 1975 graduate of San Diego State Uni– versity with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, Carolyn went on to earn her Master's degree in Sports Medicine at the
same institution in 1978.
Over the years she has taught classes in Sports Medicine and had numerous articles published in a variety ofjournals. She oversees sixteen intercollegiate teams and approximately 350 USO student– athletes on a yearly basis. The Sports Medicine staff provides injury prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation for USD's intercolle– giate athletes. Carolyn, and her husband Jeff, reside in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego with their two boys, Dav id and Jason.

From 1983-90 he was an assistant football coach at Wauwatosa East High School in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and assisted in track in 1988. He is currently working on his Ph.D in Physical Education (focus of studies in Exercise Physiology).
